The Master is good to people who are good.
She is also good to people who aren't good.
This is true goodness.
The Master doesn't take sides;
She welcomes both saints and sinners.

Above the Law?

Cancerians with Leo Rising
& Saturn in the 12th House,

O.J. Simpson and George W. Bush

OJ gwb

Photos: OJ Simspon and George W.Bush

Like George W. Bush, sociopath O.J. Simpson has the Sun in Cancer and Leo rising. Both have Saturn, the planet of karma in the 'serve or suffer' 12th house of the unconscious and self-undoing. O.J., whose best selling confessional book "If I Did It." is back in the news and in out of jail awaiting trial. He is now charged with kidnapping and robbery. The Simpson murder trial for the June 1994 deaths of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman marked the beginning of Pluto's journey through media-legal-ethical centric Sagittarius in 1994/95 (that debacle of a trial concluded with his getting away with murder). Now it appears that Simpson's antics will mark the conclusion of the transit of Pluto in Sagittarius in 2007/08 with his next and (one hopes) final 'series' on Court TV.

Both men have the sun in Cancer, Leo rising, Saturn in the 12th house, and lucky Jupiter favorably aspecting their Moon very close to the 4th house cusp. Both are arrogant. They have somehow managed to live above the law and have dodged the comeuppance due them (Bush was born on July 6, 1946 and Simpson born on July 9, 1947.) Though the horoscopes and lives of Bush and OJ are far from parallel, the astrological and mythological similarities are worthy of study and contemplation.

Scorpio Vixens of 1946....
What a Difference a Day Makes

:: At the Emmy Awards. (Scorpio with Libra rising) Actress Sally Field's controversial war-condemning comment during her acceptance speech was cut by the ultra right-wing Fox network, and given that much more publicity in most other news outlets. (She said "If Mothers ruled the world there'd be no more goddamn wars in the first place"). Incidentally Sally Field was born on November 6th, 36 hours after First Lady Laura Bush who (with Taurus rising) was born on November 4th 1946.

The passionate and gifted Ms. Fields and repressed and Stepford-y Mrs. Bush probably have a lot more in common than meets the eye. Laura was reportedly quite vocal, opinionated, feisty and very much her own woman prior to the presidential campaign of 2000. In case you forgot, she was at the wheel and hit her high school 'beau', Michael Douglas on Nov 6, 1963 an 'accident' which resulted in his death. Mrs. Bush has been in the news recently when she was unable to accompany her husband on several recent trips due to surgery for a pinched nerve in her neck.

Oh the meds she must go through….

The Sun enters Jupiter-ruled Sagittarius on Nov. 22, Thanksgiving Day, and the planets point to second helpings all round.

Between Jupiter's natural gift of expansion- especially in its own sign and approaching Pluto; passionate Mars, now retrograde in 'feed me' Cancer, and the moon in bountiful Taurus (a sign known for its hearty appetite), over-stuffed turkeys is the least of our concerns! Over-eating is likely to be more out of control than usual and unless we're careful, we could be living that much larger than we'd like in the days and weeks to come.
So where is it best to place all of that BIG energy and how can we productively channel our deep soul hunger without stuffing ourselves, getting sloshed, letting it rip and taking it out on our families?
At the risk of stating the obvious, Thanksgiving is about gratitude, a national holiday originated by colonists at the fall harvest and that we keep today to acknowledge and give thanks for the roof over our heads, the ground beneath our feet, the food we eat, and the people we see daily and all too often take for granted. In recent years and with global warming a real and present danger, we must know that none of the above can be taken for granted or assumed to be a given forever.
The words 'sage' and 'saga' are related to Sagittarius, the sign of tall stories, long tales, religion, politics, philosophy, higher learning, and 'spreading the word'. The sign's ruling planet, Jupiter, symbolizes wisdom and the many journeys one takes to acquire it. Jupiterian types are thought of as lucky, generous, and optimistic. But there's a dark side too: Sagittarius can be a pig-headed and highly opinionated blow-hard.
The full Moon that occurs on Saturday Nov 24 at 9:30 AM EST is in the communication axis of Gemini-Sagittarius, within hours of electrical Uranus stationing and turning direct. This adds a special and potentially illuminating 'charge' of energy to the full Moon, a charge of the light brigade, as it were!
At the bookstore the other day, I happened upon a copy of David Isay's book, “Listening as an Act of Love.” The title struck me as especially relevant to this Thanksgiving holiday and the full Moon this weekend. And then I realized that the key to success this weekend can be found in our willingness to listen more than we talk and to welcome the pockets of silence.

Jupiter/Pluto in Sagittarius- The Grand Finale

In the next few weeks as Jupiter and approaches Pluto, and as Pluto completes his 12 year run in Sagittarius, we are once again seeing a plethora of sex-abuse stories in churches, in schools, and in the political arena, with my favorites- a tie between the 80 year old Cleveland pastor who fathered a son 34 years ago with his brother's wife and Judith Regan's revelation about being told by 'superiors' to keep details of her affair with Bernard Kerik  and other state secrets quiet, lest Rudolph Giuliani's chances for the presidency be spoiled. We can only expect an acceleration of this in the next few weeks leading up to the conjunction on Dec 11.

Black Friday-Buyer Beware
:
The Moon is 'Void of Course' @ 1:53 PM EST on Friday Nov. 23. Items bought impulsively in the afternoon into the night of what is known as the biggest shopping day of the year could yield many unhappy returns. The moon enters Gemini @ 6:29 AM EST on Saturday, after which time, it should be smooth sailing for shop-a-holics for the duration of the weekend

Weekly Horoscope

ARIES: Though pro-active by nature, you'll accomplish more this week by taking a back seat and taking on the role of the 'active listener'. The full moon in the communication axis of your horoscope makes for many lively discussions, and a light-bulb moment you should record for future reference. A partner or someone you're sweet on wins the approval of your clan. Be supportive and acknowledge this 'victory', it'll mean a so much to him/her. And if your cynical self starts to emerge, can it: A little restraint goes a long way.

TAURUS: The promise of extra revenue always gets your attention and at first glance, the full moon across the money axis in your chart this weekend looks encouraging. But caution is advised: Mercury, the ruler of your 2nd house of income is now in Scorpio and compromised by a tough aspect to slippery Neptune. Beware of any and all silver tongued assurances and investment 'specialists'. Even those with your best interests at heart may not be completely informed. With Saturn in Virgo (on and off through 2010), slow and steady wins the race.

GEMINI: Full moons are always exciting and the holiday weekend will not disappoint: An unexpected career jolt is likely. The Sun's annual entrance in your social 7th house is always a plus. And as the upbeat air alignment between the moon, Venus, and Neptune in your fire houses inspires you to innocently shoot the breeze with everyone you meet, remember that your words carry weight: Static between your ruler, Mercury, (now in penetrating Scorpio) and nebulous Neptune could make for an awkward exchange with an uptight 'Church Lady' type. Pause before offering unsolicited insight to anyone you don't know well.

CANCER: Though your mind is on many other things, and your emotional attention is turned inward, when at the table, your family expects you to be present- mind, body, and soul. So if you're not in the mood, and can't bring yourself to fake it, you're better off volunteering for a shift at work that no one else wants and joining the clan later as things wind down. Spending quality time alone or at a retreat rejuvenates your spirit and may be the prefect way to spend this one.

LEO: You ARE in a party mood and your timing couldn't be better: Your energy and skill as a host/hostess will definitely be needed to offset the moodiness of some of the less cheerful in the group. Be careful however, of mixing fire with water. The Uranus station in your 8th house could supply a shock where it's least convenient and possibly dangerous: Make sure all electrical devises are unplugged in the bathroom and kitchen, and let someone else handle the carving knife and dishwasher. You mix drinks - Tell 'em your astrologer insisted.

VIRGO: A partner or spouse may abruptly change direction or do something shocking altogether. Let them, - there's nothing you can do about it. Sleep in if you like, on Sunday morning (though jarring dreams & noisy neighbors and roommates are probable- courtesy of the early AM Moon-Uranus square), but don't miss an afternoon-evening soiree invite. The harmonious and uplifting 'grand trine'' between the Moon, Venus, and Neptune promises a sparkling conversation or two that could open the door to employment or economic opportunities.

LIBRA: Clear the decks: Holiday weekend or not, the Uranus station in your 6th house of health and routine jump starts your schedule and in a flash, your work load could double or quadruple! Be ready to travel if need be. The charmed aspect between Venus and Neptune gives you an incandescent quality and makes some of what's happening seem like a dream, but it's real: Mars retro in your career 10th house suggests that the current activity, can actually be traced back to seeds you planted 2, 4, 8, 15 or even 32 years ago!

SCORPIO: The Sun in your 2nd house of finance sheds clarifying light on what you value, what you're worth, and what you're capable of earning, which could be considerably more than you ever thought possible. A powerful build-up between your co-ruler Pluto and expansive Jupiter is about to change your economic life forever. Beware your tendency to push your luck and your fascination with sabotage. Exercise restraint. It would be a crime to forfeit all that you've worked for-for a moment of self-indulgent venting.

SAGITTARIUS: There's a force building, and the song in your soul these few next weeks goes something like: “Could it be? Yes it could. Something's coming, something good, if I can wait. Something's coming I don't know what it is, but it is gonna be great.” OK, so you're not exactly Tony in West Side Story, but you're not crazy either. The anticipation you're feeling is spot on. Now that the Sun has entered your sign, 'light' is being shone on what you've suspected for a while: You're about to undergo the ultimate explosive energy shift of a lifetime. Try to keep your feet on the ground.

CAPRICORN: Though caution and control are your middle names, not everyone around you is as seasoned and conscientious. The full moon highlights and brings about some needed changes at work. Take it in stride. What's more important though, is to pay strict attention when on the road: the Uranus station in your 3rd house of transportation can describe a renegade driver on the loose when least expected. Wear your seatbelt and no cell phones while driving. Check your tires and wires. With the wild card Uranus active, you can't be too careful.

AQUARIUS: Your ruler, Uranus, stations direct in your 2nd house of income. And one way or another, your financial status will change in the weeks ahead, most likely for the better. Exactly how this plays out is not exactly predictable but that's part of the fun. The beautiful dialogue between Venus in your 9th house of far away places and dreamy Neptune could open the possibility of a romantic long distance correspondence or a delightful dalliance with someone foreign that may or may not ever materialize on the earth plane. So what? In this case, the fantasy alone is worth the involvement. It's that good.

PISCES: If you're having a hard time sleeping, focusing, or even breathing, don't worry, it's not you. The Uranus station in Pisces has you buzzing and picking up signals from this and what must feel like every other galaxy. And though it's holiday time, the Sun's entrance into Sagittarius emphasizes career- which is about to go gangbusters. What you need most for the next several weeks, is the stabilizing influence of a rock solid partner or level-headed best friend. If you're a 12 stepper, keep your sponsor close and "obey" Don't get sucked into any soap operas, this is possibly the most important time of your life.
